Ray-Ban Meta Audio: announced price, India status and Muse limits

By AiCoN | Published 7 October 2026 | Sources checked 7 October 2026

Ray-Ban Meta Audio is Meta’s announced audio-focused glasses product, separate from Gen 3 camera glasses. The global announcement gives a starting price of $349 and shipping from 13 October. Meta’s 1 October India article calls Audio coming soon without an Indian price or firm local sale date.

What is Meta Audio?

The September announcement describes glasses for music, podcasts, calls and hands-free conversations with an AI assistant. Meta says they are its lightest and slimmest AI glasses.

This guide covers the audio product. The already-published Gen 3 India guide covers the separate camera-equipped model. Do not attach camera or video features to Audio merely because both were announced at Connect.

Design and fit

Meta gives a weight of forty-three grams and describes adjustable temple tips, adjustable or swappable nose pads and overextension hinges.

The announcement lists Clubmaster and Burbank styles, with twenty-three colour and lens combinations and compatibility with a range of prescriptions. These are manufacturer details, not a personal fit test.

Battery claims

Meta says Audio provides up to twelve hours on a charge and up to forty-eight additional hours from the included case.

Up to is a maximum under the vendor's conditions, not a guarantee for every call, music session or AI workload. This guide did not independently test battery life or call quality.

Global announced price

The September launch states pre-orders from $349 USD and shipping from 13 October. The checked date for this guide is 7 October, before that announced shipping date.

This is an announced starting price and schedule. It does not establish stock, shipment completion or the final cost of every frame and lens option.

India status is different

Meta's October India article has a section titled Ray-Ban Meta Audio Coming Soon. It does not give an Indian Audio price or firm India sale date.

The same article confirms Gen 3 in India from ₹44,300. That price belongs to Gen 3, not Audio. A converted dollar amount is also not an official Indian price.

Muse is a future rollout

The India announcement says Muse will come to the glasses in the coming months. It describes hands-free tasks and acting on what a user looks at.

That broader glasses vision does not establish that all those actions are available on Audio today. In particular, do not transfer visually grounded features to an audio-focused model without its specific documentation.

Video and hearing claims

The Connect announcement discusses Gen 3 video improvements separately. Its checked text does not establish a hearing-aid approval, paid hearing enhancement or a Private Processing guarantee for Meta Audio.

Those claims appeared in an older archive post based on media coverage. We do not repeat them as official Audio capabilities. A general AI audio wearable should not be treated as a medical hearing device without its actual regulatory and product evidence.

Privacy without a camera

Audio use can still involve microphones, calls, conversations and model requests. A camera-free experience does not automatically mean all processing is offline or all captured information is private.

Check actual data settings, retention, account access and service terms before speaking about personal or workplace information. Ask before recording or transmitting another person's conversation.

Cost and free-versus-paid verdict

This is paid hardware, not a free app. Final cost can depend on lenses, frame options, shipping and regional terms.

No universal free AI usage allowance or Indian Audio checkout total was established in these announcements. Read the specific offer when available rather than buying solely on promised future features.

A sensible evaluation path

  1. Confirm the exact model is Audio rather than Gen 3.
  2. Wait for an official regional offer and supported-feature list.
  3. Check phone compatibility and app requirements.
  4. Try the frame and discuss prescription needs.
  5. Review selected price, warranty and return terms.
  6. Check privacy settings and supported AI features.
  7. Base the choice on what works now, not an assumed Muse date.

No pre-order, purchase or account setup was made for this guide.

What changed since the original post?

The newer India article now says Audio is coming soon, while Gen 3 has a confirmed Indian starting price. We separate those facts, retain Muse as a future rollout and exclude hearing and privacy claims not established in the official announcement.
