Phave: AI marketing automation, with enterprise costs and limits
Phave is a paid marketing automation platform that uses AI to decide and prepare the next steps in a campaign. Its Maestro assistant can create work in the platform, while governance rules control permissions and sending. It is not a free tool for a small WhatsApp channel.

What does Phave do?
Phave describes marketing automation built around AI reasoning rather than only hand-written workflow rules. It considers a person, account and buying group to decide what message or next step fits. A buying group is the set of people involved in a business purchase.
Maestro is its AI assistant. The vendor says it can create campaigns, emails, lists and other platform objects. Teams can describe work in plain language inside Phave or use supported AI connections through MCP. MCP is a way for an AI client to call another service's tools. It does not remove the need to check permissions.
What controls does the company describe?
Phave says connected assistants act with the permissions of the person who consented. It classifies writes as reversible, destructive or sending. The FAQ says a send can only be approved by a signed-in person on a Phave page. Its Air Traffic Control feature reviews messages planned across campaigns to avoid conflicting or excessive contact.
These are vendor descriptions, not controls we tested. Before buying, ask the vendor to demonstrate exactly how consent, frequency limits, approval and audit records work with your data. A record of what an AI did is useful, but it cannot fix a message already sent to the wrong audience.
What does it cost?
| Starting price | $36,000 per year, per the current FAQ. |
|---|---|
| Billing measure | Monthly Active Playlists: people receiving something from you that month. |
| AI usage | The FAQ says no separate token or metered AI charge. |
| Final agreement | Confirm your annual band, included scope, taxes, renewal and migration costs in the proposal. |
The vendor says teams commit to a band for a year and consistent use above it leads to a discussion about the right band. Do not turn that into a promise that your business can exceed a contract without extra cost. There is no rupee quote or free unlimited plan verified here.
India fit and migration risks
Indian B2B marketing teams may find the idea relevant, but this is a substantial software decision. Phave's FAQ states U.S. hosting and notes that established competitors have more data regions and a wider connector catalog. Confirm data residency, your CRM connection, security requirements and lawful marketing consent before moving customer records.
Website publishing, blogging, SEO and social publishing are outside the marketing automation scope described by Phave. It is not a replacement for every feature of a broader CRM or website suite. Check what you would lose, not only what the new AI can do.
A careful evaluation
- List your required CRM, email, reporting and approval workflows.
- Ask for a demonstration using non-sensitive sample data and a written price for your expected monthly reach.
- Test consent changes, unsubscribes, duplicate contacts and two campaigns targeting the same person.
- Have your security and legal teams review hosting, access, contracts and migration.
- Run a limited pilot before replacing a working platform. Keep a rollback and data-export plan.
We did not create an account, run Maestro, send mail or test integrations.
How to read its comparison scores
Phave says it compared 481 requirements drawn from enterprise evaluations and templates, using Claude to score its source and competitor documentation. The FAQ explains weighting and excluded categories. That helps you inspect the method, but the company ran the analysis itself. Different requirements, weights or hands-on tests could change the outcome.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
No. The published starting price is an annual enterprise price.
Can an agent send email alone?
The FAQ describes a signed-in human approval step for sending. Verify it during a demo.
Does the benchmark prove it is best?
No. Treat it as vendor evidence to investigate against your own requirements.
What changed since the earlier post?
This guide adds the active-playlist pricing model, U.S. hosting and scope limits, approval claims and the self-published benchmark method. It avoids treating vendor scores as independent proof or the platform as free.
