Magic Hour AI Video Editor: free edits and commercial limits

By AiCoN | Published 7 October 2026 | Sources checked 7 October 2026

Magic Hour AI Video Editor changes an uploaded clip from a text prompt. Its current product page offers three free edits a day without an account. Free output is limited to personal, non-commercial use unless a qualifying paid arrangement applies.

What can it change?

The product describes removing or adding objects, replacing backgrounds, adjusting lighting or colours and changing a clip's visual style. You upload footage and describe the change. It is a generative editor, not a conventional timeline for precise cuts and sound mixing.

Short clips with a clear subject and steady light are the maker's suggested starting point. Fast motion, blur and complex scenes may be harder. An example video on a sales page is not proof that every product shot or family clip will edit cleanly.

How much is free?

The current editor page says three free edits daily with no sign-up. Creating an account can add account-specific credits, saved projects and access to other tools, but those are not the same as unlimited free editing.

The pricing page says free video and audio outputs may contain a watermark. The editor's own policy says users without a subscription or credit-pack purchase are limited to personal, non-commercial use. Do not use a free test in a client advert simply because a download is offered.

Paid price and billing period

The pricing page advertises a Creator option at US$12 per month when billed yearly, US$144 for the year. At the approximate ₹96.43 per US dollar conversion checked for this review, those are about ₹1,157 a month and ₹13,886 paid annually, before taxes, card fees or currency changes.

The monthly-looking figure is not a promise of month-by-month payment at that rate. Read the selected billing period, included credits, cancellation terms and final checkout total. No purchase was made and the Indian checkout was not tested.

How to try a small edit

  1. Open the official editor and read its current free allowance and rights rules.
  2. Choose a short clip you own and may upload. Do not use confidential client footage for a trial.
  3. Ask for one clear change, such as removing an empty box from a background.
  4. Generate within the allowance and review the entire result, not only its opening frame.
  5. Check faces, hands, logos, product labels, motion and objects near the changed area.
  6. Confirm export quality, watermark and duration before downloading.
  7. For commercial work, confirm your paid rights and third-party rights in the source material.
  8. Keep the original clip, a copy of the prompt and the final reviewed version.

For creators in India

A Kerala shop owner could test a public sample product clip, but the edit must not invent a product feature or misrepresent its appearance. Check every label and colour before publishing an advertisement.

Removing a person or changing a background can alter the meaning of an event. Get permission for recognisable people and label misleading synthetic changes where appropriate. Paid commercial-use permission does not give rights to somebody else's footage or trademark.

Privacy and retention

The editor page states no training on uploads or outputs, one-day retention, encryption and deletion from active storage when content is deleted. These are vendor statements, not an independent audit or a promise covering every backup or third-party provider.

No-sign-up access still involves sending the video to an online service. Do not upload sensitive files merely because an account is not required.

What changed since the original post?

The page now states the three-edits-per-day allowance. We added the explicit personal-only free-use rule and updated the labelled approximate rupee conversion. We did not upload footage, create an edit or assess export quality hands-on.
