LemonSlice CWM-1: interactive avatars, real pricing and free limits

By AiCoN | Published 7 October 2026 | Sources checked 7 October 2026

Scoped recheck: 24 October 2026. Official documentation, pricing and policy review only; no account, repository, training, avatar, selfie, biometric, camera or payment test. Original publication date retained.

LemonSlice CWM-1 generates interactive avatar motion from an image. General API access is included on paid self-serve plans, while current pricing and Emotion Engine docs put CWM-1 on Ultra/Enterprise. The launch also says all users can try custom characters in the web app, conflicting with the pricing page’s featured-avatar-only free preview. Do not assume free custom CWM-1 access or pay before checking the actual model and account entitlement.

Current limits Paid self-serve plans include general API access, but CWM-1 remains Ultra/Enterprise in pricing and docs. Idle sessions consume credits; renewal, training licences and cancellation terms matter.

What is CWM-1?

Character World Model-1 is LemonSlice's interactive avatar model. Instead of playing back recorded clips, it generates every frame of a character live while you talk, from one input image, with no per-character fine-tuning.

A built-in emotion engine decides what the character appears to feel and do, not only what it says. LemonSlice calls it its most controllable avatar model; that is a vendor claim, not an independent ranking.

What the free tier actually includes

The current pricing page advertises featured-avatar browser chat without a subscription or card, and says custom avatars/API require a paid plan. The CWM-1 launch instead says all users can try it in the web app with custom characters. Pricing and Emotion Engine docs reserve CWM-1 for Ultra/Enterprise. These official pages do not fully agree, and no account or upload flow was tested. Treat the public free preview as featured-avatar chat, not verified free custom CWM-1 creation.

Treat the free chat as a demo of latency and quality, useful for judging whether the product fits your need before paying.

Current plan prices

The pricing page’s monthly tab lists Starter $8, Creator $40, Professional $100, Scale $240 and Ultra $960; Enterprise is custom. Its yearly tab shows effective monthly rates of $7, $33, $83, $200 and $800. Those discounted monthly equivalents are not a monthly-billed contract. Paid self-serve includes LemonSlice-2.1, Cartoon, general API access and image-to-avatar; Ultra adds CWM-1/CWM-1 Lite/Flash. Thus “API is Ultra/Enterprise-only” was too broad: distinguish general API access from CWM-1 model entitlement. Confirm taxes, annual billing total and the chosen model before checkout.

CWM-1 is available only on the Ultra and Enterprise plans. Lower tiers run earlier models. If CWM-1 quality is the reason you are paying, confirm the model name on your plan before checkout, not after.

Two billing traps to know

Billing runs from call request until session termination, with idle time billed like talking. Credits roll over while subscribed but are permanently forfeited on cancellation. Overage, if enabled, can create extra charges; above-concurrency calls can have a 2x burst multiplier, and hosted avatars have an additional published STT/LLM/TTS rate. The cheapest advertised model rate is not every session’s all-in price. Close sessions, check the model/hosted usage and cap or disable overage deliberately.

Do not wait until the last moment to cancel. Terms updated 12 October 2026 say automatic renewal continues unless cancellation is received at least one day before the current term expires, and payments are generally final/non-refundable unless LemonSlice determines otherwise. The billing page menu is the published cancellation route; terms also allow support@lemonslice.com. Ask how the effective date affects retained credits, and keep the confirmation. We did not test cancellation or refunds.

Second, unused credits are lost when you cancel. Time any cancellation near the end of a billing period after using what you paid for, and keep a record of the cancellation confirmation.

Languages, privacy and enterprise terms

The page advertises 70+ languages, not independently tested Indian-language quality. Enterprise advertises zero-data-retention and residency options, not automatic inclusion for all users. The 12 October terms permit input/output use for service improvement and model development during paid use; free-use licences additionally cover promotion and public display/distribution. Paying is therefore not a blanket no-training promise. Check your order, privacy policy and any negotiated agreement before uploading sensitive images/audio. We did not verify a separate current privacy policy or a particular account’s ZDR setting.

Zero data retention and data-residency options are restricted to Enterprise plans. On lower plans, assume your photo and session content are processed under the standard policy and read it before uploading anyone's image.

Consent and impersonation risk

Only animate photos you own or have clear permission to use. A realistic talking avatar of a real person without their consent can deceive viewers and may violate platform rules and law.

The current terms require accounts to be held by adults 18+, with separate duties for customers offering their own service to minors. They prohibit deceptive deepfakes and require output identifying/resembling a person to be publicly labelled AI-generated. Commercial output use requires production during a paid subscription that allows it; ownership wording alone is not permission for every commercial use. Obtain the rights and subject consent before uploading images or voice samples.

The same realism cuts the other way: treat unexpected video calls from familiar faces with suspicion and verify through a second channel before acting on urgent requests.

India price and access checks

Public prices are in US dollars. Your Indian card total will include conversion and possibly tax, and the displayed plan does not establish local support or uptime.

There is no Indian rupee pricing on the checked page. Confirm renewal, cancellation and credit rules in your actual account before committing to a yearly tier.

A careful first test

  1. Open the official site and try a featured-avatar chat free.
  2. Read the pricing page and confirm which plans include CWM-1.
  3. Check the API documentation only if you need integration.
  4. Start monthly rather than yearly while you measure real usage.
  5. Use a photo you have rights to, with a neutral background.
  6. Watch credit consumption during both talking and idle periods.
  7. Test cancellation terms before upgrading.

Read the pricing, model documentation and current terms first. If using a public preview, prefer a featured avatar without submitting personal media. Check your actual model entitlement and consent requirements before custom avatars; do not subscribe solely to resolve conflicting marketing text. For integration, use the official transport SDK/lifecycle guidance, terminate sessions and keep a finite idle timeout. Create-session docs warn that a negative idle timeout disables it and risks excess credits; the null model selects the normal flagship rather than guaranteeing CWM-1. No account, photo, voice, session, API or plan was tested for this guide.

What changed since the original post?

The 24 October scoped recheck corrects general API access versus CWM-1 entitlement, preserves the launch/pricing conflict around free custom characters, and adds API idle-time safeguards, overage/hosted-cost caveats, rollover versus cancellation loss, one-day-before-renewal notice, adult-account/commercial-rights boundaries and the 12 October training/promotion licences. Original 7 October publication retained.

Frequently asked questions

Can I try CWM-1 free?

Pricing offers featured-avatar chat free, but launch wording about custom characters differs. Paid self-serve includes general API; current pricing/docs reserve CWM-1 for Ultra/Enterprise. Free custom CWM-1 access was not verified.

Do credits roll over if I cancel?

No. The checked terms say unused credits are lost on cancellation.

Is my data kept private on cheap plans?

Zero data retention and residency options are Enterprise-only on the checked page.
