Kerala voter list 2027 revision: draft roll on 12 November, claims until 11 December
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered a Special Summary Revision of the photo electoral rolls in Kerala and 16 other states and Union Territories, using 1 January 2027 as the qualifying date. The draft roll is due on 12 November 2026, claims and objections run from 12 November to 11 December 2026, and the final roll is due on 4 January 2027. If your name is missing, or you will turn 18 soon, this is the window to apply. We read the ECI order and the Kerala Chief Electoral Officer's website on 1 November 2026. We did not file any form.
The schedule in the ECI order
ECI letter No. 23/2026-ERS dated 15 October 2026, addressed to the Chief Electoral Officers including Kerala, lists these dates:
- Rearrangement of polling stations: by 2 November 2026
- Publication of the integrated draft electoral roll: 12 November 2026
- Claims and objections: 12 November to 11 December 2026
- Disposal of claims and objections: by 28 December 2026
- Final publication of the electoral roll: 4 January 2027
The Kerala Chief Electoral Officer's site carries the same order as a PDF on its "Special Summary Revision 2027" update. The order says state officers may add special camps during the claims period, so ask your Booth Level Officer or village camp for local dates.

Which form to use
- Form 6: a claim to be added to the roll, signed by the applicant. The order says claims are invited for the 1 January 2027 date and also in advance for 1 April, 1 July and 1 October 2027.
- Form 6A: the same claim for overseas electors.
- Form 7: an objection to someone's proposed inclusion, or a request to delete a name. It must come from a person whose own name is in the roll of the same assembly constituency, and ECI has set limits on how many a person can file.
- Form 8: a change of residence, a correction, an EPIC replacement or marking a disability, filed by the person the entry is about.
The order says electors are encouraged to file online through the Voter Service Portal (voters.eci.gov.in) or the ECINET app, signed electronically with Aadhaar-enabled e-sign. Giving an Aadhaar number in Form 6 or Form 8 is voluntary, and the order says a name cannot be refused or deleted because someone could not give it.
What to do from 12 November
- Open the draft roll on the Kerala Chief Electoral Officer's website. The order says the draft and final rolls are published there.
- Look for your name in the part (polling station list) for your address.
- If it is missing, file Form 6 before 11 December 2026. If an entry is wrong, file Form 8.
- Keep the reference number and track the application on the portal.
- If an officer rejects a claim, the order says an appeal goes to the District Magistrate, and a second appeal to the Chief Electoral Officer.
The Voter Helpline number shown on the Kerala Chief Electoral Officer's site is 1950.
What we did not check
The draft roll is not out yet, so we could not test how to search it. We did not log in to the Voter Service Portal or submit any form, and nothing was paid. The ECI order is a national letter to 17 states and Union Territories, so use the Kerala Chief Electoral Officer's site for any Kerala-specific camp dates. Our earlier guide on voter services covers the portal in general; this post is about the 2027 revision window.
Cost and mistakes to avoid
ECI voter services are free, and no agent can promise you a place on the roll for money. The most common mistake is waiting until the last week of the claims period. Another is filing Form 7 when you want your own name added: Form 7 is for objections and deletions.
Frequently asked questions
When is the last date to apply?
The claims period in the order ends on 11 December 2026. File well before that.
Can I apply if I am not yet 18?
The order invites advance claims for the qualifying dates 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October 2027, based on your date of birth.
Is Aadhaar compulsory?
No. The order says giving it is voluntary and a claim cannot be denied for not giving it.
