Kerala traffic challan: check and pay on the official eChallan portal

By AiCoN | Published 31 October 2026 | Sources checked 31 October 2026

eChallan is the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) portal for traffic fines. Its main page says Kerala (KL) challans are checked and paid on the NextGen eChallan portal. On 31 October 2026 we opened both pages and read the services listed. We did not enter any vehicle, licence or challan number, and we paid nothing.

Where to go

  1. Open echallan.parivahan.gov.in. Its notice board lists the states served on the NextGen portal, and KL is in that list.
  2. Use the "NextGen eChallan Portal" link on that page. It opens echallan.parivahan.nic.in/challan/challan-services.
  3. Pick Check Pending Challan Status or Pay Challan and follow the steps on the portal.

Services on the page

Fake site warning

The main eChallan page carries this notice: beware of fraudulent websites and mobile apps impersonating the eChallan services, use only the official website or app, and the portal never asks for your password, OTP, payment details or sensitive personal information by calls, emails, messages or links. Do not pay a challan from an SMS link without checking the site name first.

We did not test the lookup, the payment or the receipt download, so check how each step works on the portal. Challan amounts depend on the offence and are shown only on the portal.
