KSRTC student concession card: how to register or renew online in Kerala

By AiCoN | Published 1 November 2026 | Sources checked 1 November 2026

Kerala's school and college students apply for the KSRTC bus concession card on an online portal, concessionksrtc.com. KSRTC's own social media post for the 2026-27 academic year lists the steps. This guide sums them up and says what we could not confirm.

Steps for school students (up to class 12)

From KSRTC's official post of 3 June 2026:

  1. Open the concession portal, concessionksrtc.com.
  2. Choose "School Student Registration" and complete a new registration.
  3. Fill in the application form and upload the documents: Form-1 signed by the head of your institution, a copy of last year's concession card, and any other documents the portal lists.
  4. The depot checks the application. After it checks the details, the payment option becomes active.
  5. Log in to your profile and make the payment online.
  6. After payment, you get an SMS with the date and time to collect the card from the depot.
  7. Take your old concession card to the depot if you have one. The post says the validity of an existing card is extended.

Steps for college students

The same post says college students log in to the portal with their existing user ID and password and use the "Renew" option.

Kerala government notice page on KSRTC student concession online registration
Kerala government portal notice on KSRTC student concession online registration, last updated 31 May 2024 and checked 1 November 2026. It points students to concessionksrtc.com and mentions an "Appeal Applications" tab for rejected applications. The page header carries a state emblem, so it is masked with a white box, and the image is colour-reduced to keep the file small.

If your application is rejected

The 2024 Kerala government notice says a rejected application can be appealed from the "Appeal Applications" tab on the portal. We did not see that tab ourselves, so check it on the portal.

What we did not check

We did not register, log in or submit anything, and nothing was paid. The portal returned a server error when we tried to open it in a browser on the evening of 1 November 2026, although it loaded earlier the same day in a text check, showing the school and college registration links and downloads for the SOP and Form No 1. We could not download the SOP files, so we have not read them. The portal is run by a private company (its footer names Kawika Technologies Pvt Ltd), which is why we rely on KSRTC's own post and the Kerala government notice for the steps. We did not confirm fees, who qualifies, or any deadline, and the 2024 notice's dates and payment method are out of date. Read the SOP on the portal or ask your nearest KSRTC depot.
