What it is
Jio is giving eligible customers 18 months of Google AI Pro, Google's paid Gemini plan, at no extra charge. Jio's offer page lists what it includes: higher access to the Gemini app and its Gemini 3 model, Deep Research, higher image-generation limits, 5 TB of storage across Photos, Drive and Gmail, NotebookLM with more Audio Overviews and notebooks, and Gemini inside Gmail, Docs and Vids.
Is it free
Yes, but only if you qualify, and you still pay for your phone plan. Jio's terms call it a free subscription "worth ₹1950/month" for up to 18 months. To qualify you must be over 18, be a Jio retail user, and be on an active unlimited 5G plan of ₹349 or more. You must keep that plan active for the whole period, or Jio can suspend the subscription. Jio's terms also say that from 11 February 2026, for a limited time, active 1.5 GB/day plans of ₹299 or more qualify too. Check which one applies to you in MyJio. The offer FAQ says once per unique mobile number; the terms say one redemption per eligible subscriber. Do not assume another number creates another entitlement.
Deadline
Jio's terms say the offer runs from 30 October 2025 to 29 October 2026, or another date Jio decides. The 24 October scoped recheck still found that displayed deadline, five days away; it is not a verified opening or eligibility result in your account. This is the claim deadline, not the day every activated subscription ends. The offer page says 18 months from activation; the terms reserve the right to change the period. The deadline may change or the offer may be withdrawn early. Jio says the subscription does not auto-renew after the 18 months, and you can pay for a Gemini subscription after that if you choose.
The terms also say benefits cannot be combined with other promotions unless expressly permitted. Check an existing Google subscription and its storage or billing separately; this guide does not establish how offers stack.
How to claim it
- Open the MyJio app and log in.
- Tap the Google Gemini offer banner on the home screen.
- Continue to the Google One activation page and register with a valid Gmail ID. Choose the personal account you intend to use, read the activation terms and check the displayed price and benefits before confirming. Use that same Google account afterwards. Do not assume a work or school account qualifies.
India availability and practical checks
This is a Jio India promotion, not a worldwide free Google AI Pro offer. The standard public route is for retail prepaid or postpaid Jio mobile customers on a qualifying active plan. We verified the public pages, not eligibility in an individual MyJio account. Do not buy or change a phone plan just because you see this article: check your own offer and total phone-plan cost first.
Free does not mean unlimited. Jio lists limited Veo video generation and higher limits for other tools. Models, limits, feature availability and Google-account restrictions can change. The 5 TB is total storage across Photos, Drive and Gmail, not a separate 5 TB for each app. Check storage and ongoing subscription options before the benefit ends; do not assume excess files disappear or remain fully usable without another plan.
Cancellation and suspension
Jio says you cannot pause the subscription, but can cancel in MyJio under MySubscription. If the qualifying plan lapses, access may be suspended and resumed after a successful qualifying recharge within the original subscription period; the end date does not move. Porting out of Jio or losing the active number can revoke the benefit. The terms also allow Google to cancel or revoke it if the activation Gmail account is deleted, or under Google terms. Cancelling the phone promotion is not a substitute for managing or backing up Google data. The terms say no automatic renewal after this promotional subscription period. Check any other Google subscription you already have separately; we did not test existing-subscriber combinations.
Limits and privacy to know
- Jio says it can change or withdraw the eligibility rules at any time, so check the banner and the terms shown in your own MyJio app before claiming. A banner is not a promise that every account or Google service qualifies.
- The Gemini service itself is provided by Google under Google's Terms of Use, not by Jio. Jio's terms say your personal data is handled under Jio's Privacy Policy.
- The benefits cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
- Google's Gemini Privacy Hub says Keep Activity is on by default for adults and activity can be used to improve services, including AI model training, with human reviewers. Do not enter confidential work, identity documents or other sensitive material. Check Keep Activity and connected-app settings before use.
- Turning Keep Activity off or using temporary chats reduces model-training use of future chats, unless you submit feedback, but does not make chats instantly deleted or exempt from safety review. Google retains these chats for up to 72 hours. Reviewed chats can be retained separately for up to 3 years. Settings do not control every form of anonymized processing. Gemini settings are not a blanket privacy rule for Gmail, Drive or other Google apps.
- The current Privacy Hub says saved activity defaults to auto-deletion after 18 months, with 3 months, 36 months or indefinite options. Deleting Gemini activity does not delete data stored by connected Google services, and reviewed chats remain separate. Audio and Gemini Live video/screenshare use for service improvement has a separate setting and is not on by default. Do not treat a single activity toggle as control over every upload, feedback item or connected service.
- We did not log into MyJio, claim the benefit, create a subscription, buy a recharge or test Google features. These are source-based steps, not a completed claim.
Frequently asked questions
Is Google AI Pro free with Jio?
Yes, for 18 months for eligible Jio users on a qualifying unlimited 5G plan of ₹349 or more. You must keep the plan active. The offer is listed as valid until 29 October 2026.
Do Rs 299 plans qualify?
The terms describe a limited-time extension from 11 February 2026 for active 1.5 GB/day plans of Rs 299 or above. The main offer page still describes the standard Rs 349 unlimited-5G route. Do not treat every Rs 299 plan as eligible. Check your own MyJio offer and current terms.
Is 29 October the end of my 18 months?
No. It is the listed claim deadline. The public offer says the subscription runs from activation, subject to continued eligibility and the company's change rights.
What changed since this post?
Sources checked on 11 October 2026. The public Jio page advertises Gemini 3 and 5 TB, and the terms list 29 October 2026 as the offer end date. We kept the Rs 299 extension conditional, added suspension and cancellation rules, and checked Google's Gemini privacy guidance. Offer availability in your account remains untested.
