What it is
ixigo is an Indian travel app for flights, hotels and trains, made by Le Travenues Technology Ltd. In a 13 May 2026 release filed with the stock exchanges, ixigo says its new app is AI-native, with an assistant called TARA at the centre. The release says you can talk to TARA in English, Hindi and Hinglish by voice, text or tap, and that more languages are coming. It also describes Trip Mode, which gathers your booking details and travel alerts in one place after you book.
Is it free
The app is free to download. The India App Store listing shows "Free". We found no separate charge for TARA on ixigo's pages. Tickets and hotel rooms are not free, and we did not check booking or convenience fees, so look at the final price before you pay.
How to try it
- Install ixigo from the App Store. The developer should be Le Travenues Technology Ltd.
- Update to the latest version, since the AI-first design came in a recent update.
- Open TARA and ask for what you need, for example flight options for a date, by voice or text.
Limits to know
- We read the iPhone listing. It currently requires iOS 17.6 or later. We did not verify the Android app in this check.
- The release describes TARA as able to plan, book and act for you. We did not test what it can do, so read every step before you confirm a booking. The release says many background travel actions are permission-based and opt-in. Check which permissions you enable.
- The developer-reported App Store privacy section includes tracking across other companies' apps and websites, as well as data such as purchases, contact info, search history, identifiers and location. Read the privacy policy and check permissions before sharing travel details.
- Prices and offers change. We quote none.
- We did not test the app ourselves.
The current ixigo privacy policy covers the wider travel service, not a separate TARA guarantee. It describes collecting booking/traveller details, identity documents when needed, device/location and usage data, sharing with travel providers and service partners, and processing primarily in India or other jurisdictions used by those partners. Its retention rule is purpose/legal-need based, with no fixed deletion deadline stated. Optional consent may be withdrawn, but withdrawing data essential to a booking can prevent service. The policy says under-18 data needs appropriate consent. These are policy statements, not an audit of the app or its AI. Avoid entering unnecessary sensitive details into a travel chat.
