Google Vids 1080p AI video: free access and monthly limits

By AiCoN | Published 7 October 2026 | Sources checked 7 October 2026

Google announced free Gemini Omni video creation in Vids on 23 September 2026 for Google and Workspace accounts. The update adds 1080p generation, upscaling and precise clip durations. Free does not mean unlimited: the current personal-account availability table lists 60 video seconds per month.

What the update adds

Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash can generate new AI scenes in full HD or upscale existing AI clips. Google also describes smoother scene extension and improved character and audio consistency.

Those are product capabilities and vendor comparisons, not a guarantee that every generated frame is accurate or every character remains identical. Review motion, text, faces and sound before publishing.

Vids is an editor, not just a generator

You can build a video with scenes, a timeline, supporting images and narration. A generated clip is one part of the finished piece.

Set the requested duration around your story and narration. A 1080p file can still contain misleading visuals or poor pacing. Resolution describes the image size, not the truth of its content.

Personal-account free limits

Google's current feature-availability table lists 60 video seconds per month for personal Google accounts. It separately says such accounts can have fifty credits per month for other listed actions.

The table prices Help me create and Slides to Vids with AI voiceovers at five credits per use, and AI voice-over and image generation or editing at one credit per action. The pools and actions are not interchangeable promises of fifty free videos.

Monthly credits reset at midnight Pacific Time on the first day of the month, do not roll over and cannot be shared. Limits and continued features can change. Read the actual account notice before generating.

Why a generic fifty-video statement can mislead

Google's video-generation help says most users can generate up to fifty videos per month. The more specific availability table gives different account and edition allowances, including 60 video seconds per month for ordinary personal accounts.

Use the table for your exact account and the current in-product counter. Do not apply a general ceiling to every free account.

Workspace and paid access

The rollout post names Business Starter, Standard and Plus; Enterprise editions; Education Plus; personal accounts; and other specified editions and add-ons.

Google says expanded-access licences have higher limits. That does not mean every school account or organisation has the same allowance. Check edition, admin settings and the current availability table.

No paid plan was bought or India subscription price checked for this article. Do not infer a final INR bill from free website access.

A careful first video

  1. Open Google Vids through the official source.
  2. Sign in with the Google account whose allowance you intend to use.
  3. Check available features and remaining usage.
  4. Use a non-sensitive prompt for a short scene.
  5. Choose the relevant duration and HD option where shown.
  6. Review the generated clip and any extension.
  7. Add accurate text, narration and licensed assets.
  8. Check audio and captions on a phone as well as desktop.
  9. Review the finished export before sharing.

No account was signed into and no video was generated or exported here. Menu labels and options can vary by account.

Consent and rights

Do not impersonate someone or make a synthetic event look like verified footage. Label an illustrative AI scene when viewers could otherwise misunderstand it.

Use images, logos, music and voices you have permission to process and publish. A feature being available does not grant rights to another person's likeness or a copyrighted recording.

India and language checks

The public sources include personal Google accounts, but do not verify access for a particular Indian account. Check age, region and account rules in the actual service.

Test Malayalam text, names, captions and pronunciation separately. Good English output does not prove that a local-language clip is correct.

What changed since the original post?

We replace the earlier ten-clip wording with the current personal-account 60-seconds-per-month allowance, separate action credits and explain the generic fifty-video wording. Google's September article describes a new text-to-speech feature as coming soon, so it is not treated as already verified in every account.

Scoped recheck 24 October 2026: official announcement, rollout and current availability/generation help checked. Personal-account allowance now reads 60 video seconds per month, replacing the earlier ten-clip wording; separate 50 action credits remain. Generic help still says most users up to fifty videos, so account-specific table and in-product counter take priority. No login, generation, export, India access or price test; official artwork retained.
