Google Pomelli: AI social posts built from your business website
Pomelli is a Google Labs experiment for small businesses. You give it your website address, it builds a brand profile (logo, colours, fonts, tone), and then it drafts social media post images and captions from a short prompt. We tested it on 27 October 2026 with the AiCoN site. The profile matched our fonts well and the drafts looked like finished posts, but the generated wording overclaimed. We were not asked to pay anything in our test.
Quick facts
- Google's launch post (28 October 2025) describes Pomelli as an AI experiment from Google Labs and DeepMind that helps small and medium businesses make on-brand social media campaigns. It is marked "EXPERIMENT" in the app.
- Google's Pomelli help page lists India among the countries and territories where Pomelli is available, for users aged 18 and over, in English only. It adds that some features may differ by country.
- In our test we were not asked for a card or any payment. We did not verify any usage limits or future pricing, so we do not state any.
- Before first use, Pomelli shows a notice that the data you upload and generate "may be reviewed and used to improve Google AI", with a link to training settings. Read it before you put any customer or unreleased product data in.
- Google's help page says AI can change fine details of products, such as colours, logos or textures, and recommends checking every image before you publish. Settings has an option to add an AI watermark to exported images.
Why use it instead of a chatbot
A chatbot can suggest caption ideas, but it does not read your site and hand you finished, correctly sized post images in your colours. Pomelli does that in one place, so a shop owner with no designer can get a first set of drafts quickly. It is a starting point for a person to edit, not a tool to publish from unchecked.
Our test
On 27 October 2026 we opened labs.google.com/pomelli in a desktop browser, signed in with a Google account and accepted Google's terms notice. We unticked the two email and research-invite boxes. We entered our own site, aicon-hub.github.io, and no private data.
- Business profile (under a minute): Pomelli found our logo, four colours, two fonts (Poppins and Inter, which match our site's own style sheet), a tagline, brand values and a short business description. The colours were close but not exact: it listed #ff5e2b as our orange, while our style sheet uses #ff682f. The logo preview cut off the last letter of "AiCoN".
- Campaign: we asked for a social post announcing a plain-language guide on checking whether an AI tool works in India before you sign up. Pomelli first wrote a campaign brief we could edit, then made four post drafts in about two minutes.
- What was wrong: the drafts used words we did not write and cannot back up. They said guides "instantly" confirm compatibility, that you can check "rate limits in under 2 minutes", and that tools "quietly restrict features or API execution". Three drafts used dashboard screenshots that seem to come from images on our site and do not relate to the message. We would rewrite all four before posting.
- Not tested: editing or downloading the drafts, Photoshoot, Brand Book, Websites, other languages (Google lists English only), and any usage limits. We posted nothing.

How to try it
- Go to labs.google.com/pomelli and sign in with a Google account.
- Enter your business website. If you have none, Pomelli offers a "No website yet?" route that we did not test.
- Check the profile: fix the logo, colours and description if they are wrong.
- Open Campaigns, describe the post in one sentence and confirm the brief.
- Rewrite any claim you cannot prove and check every image before posting.
Availability in India: Google's Pomelli help page lists India as supported. Our test ran in a remote browser, so it does not show that the tool works from your location, and Google notes that features can differ by country.
