What it is

Gizmo is a flashcard and quiz app for studying. Its help center says you can create cards and decks, quiz yourself in its Memorise mode, and use Magic Import to create decks. It also lists an AI Tutor, a practice test and Gizmo Live among its features. Its privacy notice says you can use Gizmo from inside ChatGPT, where ChatGPT writes flashcards and sends them to Gizmo as a new private deck.

Is it free

Yes, with limits. Gizmo's help center answers "Is it free?" with: "Yes, you can create unlimited cards and decks and do unlimited quizzing for free." The limits it lists: if you lose 15 lives (Hearts) while quizzing you wait 10 minutes before you can quiz again, and you can make only 2 decks a day with Magic Import, with a 20-minute wait between imports. The AI Tutor is marked "Limited" on the Free plan. The paid Unlimited plan removes these limits and is sold as a yearly plan (pay once for 365 days) or a weekly plan. We did not find a price on the help pages we read, so none is quoted here. A student discount may be available.

Is it available in India

The public help and privacy pages loaded during our check. This does not confirm India account access, app availability or local payment support. We did not test those. No INR price is quoted because the help pages do not give a paid price; check the actual purchase screen for currency, taxes, renewal and cancellation terms before paying.

How to try it

  1. Read the privacy notice and confirm you meet the age rules first. The notice prohibits under-13 use. If acceptable, follow Gizmo's free-account route, without choosing Unlimited or a paid trial.
  2. Make a small deck by hand using non-sensitive notes you own, or use Magic Import (2 a day, 20-minute gap on Free). Read and correct the cards against your original notes before studying.
  3. Quiz yourself in Memorise mode and watch your Hearts. Review wrong answers against your textbook or course material; AI-created cards are not an official answer key.

Frequently asked questions

Is Gizmo free?

Yes. Unlimited cards, decks and quizzing are free. Quizzing is paused for 10 minutes after you lose 15 Hearts, and Magic Import is limited to 2 a day.

Does unlimited quizzing mean no waiting?

No. The Free plan pauses quizzing for 10 minutes after you lose 15 Hearts. Unlimited manual cards and decks do not remove that wait or the daily Magic Import cap.

Is an integration deck link private?

It is not listed publicly, but anyone who opens the returned link can view and edit the deck. Treat the link as access, not a harmless reference.
