Gamma AI slides: free credits, steps and export limits

By AiCoN | 6 October 2026 | 5 min read

Gamma creates presentation, document and website drafts from prompts or existing material. Its Free plan includes 400 starter AI credits that do not refill, and up to 10 slides per prompt. Review the draft and exported file before sharing it.

What is Gamma?

Gamma uses AI to organise material into presentation-style cards and other formats. The pricing page lists presentations, documents, websites, social content and images. It can import PDF and PPTX files. A generated deck is a first draft, not verified research or a guarantee of attractive PowerPoint formatting.

Who is it useful for in Kerala and India?

Students, teachers, small businesses and event organisers can turn notes into an outline and draft slides. Start with the audience, purpose and reliable facts. For a local workshop, include the actual date, place and language requirements in your brief. Do not assume the tool will infer Kerala-specific details correctly.

Free credits are not a monthly allowance

The official credits help confirms 400 credits for each new Free user. Free AI actions consume credits, and those credits do not refresh. Consumption can vary by action, generation length and model. Paid plan credits refill monthly, including on annual subscriptions. A 10-slide limit is a per-prompt limit, not permission for unlimited free generations.

Classic generator and new creation flow

Gamma's help says its newer creation flow starts with a conversation, while the classic generator remains available through Use classic generator. The classic modes are Generate, Paste and Import. Instructions below use that documented classic route so readers do not mistake one interface for the only interface.

Exports and Google Slides

Official export help lists PDF, PNG and PowerPoint formats. It explains Google Slides access as exporting a PPTX file and uploading it to Google Slides. Do not promise a direct native Slides export button solely because the pricing page lists Google Slides. Check all cards are selected, then inspect the resulting file in its destination app.

Review facts and design separately

Check names, figures, sources, dates and prices against original evidence. Then review text size, card length, contrast, image accuracy and whether Malayalam text displays correctly if you use it. AI images can be illustrative without being factual. Remove invented logos, unsupported claims and photographs that appear to show events that did not happen.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Open gamma.app through the official page and create or sign in to an account. Free access is advertised without a card.
  2. Choose Use classic generator if you want the documented classic route. Select Create New AI, then Generate, Paste or Import.
  3. Provide the topic, audience, goal and verified facts. For an existing outline, use Paste rather than asking AI to invent the substance.
  4. Generate a short draft within the Free per-prompt limit. Check your credit balance and any displayed generation cost.
  5. Review and edit every card. Replace unsupported facts and check images, sources and local-language text.
  6. Use Share > Export or the top-right three-dot menu > Export. Choose All cards if you want the complete deck, then choose PDF, PNG or PPTX.
  7. For Google Slides, upload the exported PPTX there. Open the exported file and fix layout changes before sending it to an audience.

Frequently asked questions

Do Free credits refill each month?

No. Official help says Free credits do not refresh.

Can I make more than one deck?

That depends on remaining credits and the cost of your AI actions. Ten slides is a per-prompt limit, not a count of unlimited free decks.

Can I export directly as a Google Slides file?

The checked help explains a PPTX export followed by upload to Google Slides. Review the file after conversion.
