DAREBEE: 2,821 free home workouts, no ads and no sign-up
DAREBEE is a non-profit fitness library of 2,821 free, ad-free illustrated workouts - 2,429 need no equipment - with timers, training plans, programs and monthly challenges, no account. Here is what our scripted site checks showed.
Quick facts
- What it is: a free, ad-free fitness library: 2,821 workouts (counted live on the site today), plus training plans, 30-day programs, monthly challenges, an exercise library and running guides - all as clear visual cards you can follow anywhere.
- Price: completely free. No ads, no sign-ups, no subscriptions, no strings attached, in its own words. It is a UK-registered non-profit that runs on donations.
- Account: none. Your progress, bookmarks and dashboard live in your own browser storage, not on their servers.
- Equipment: 2,429 of the 2,821 workouts need no equipment at all; filters also cover dumbbells, pull-up bar, kettlebells and more.
- Since: 2012, run by a small team of volunteers and fitness professionals; everything is created and tested in-house.
- Best for: students and anyone who wants to exercise at home (or in a hostel room) with zero budget, zero equipment and zero accounts.
What it is
DAREBEE is a non-profit fitness resource: thousands of illustrated workouts you can filter by type (strength, cardio, HIIT, yoga, combat and more), body focus, difficulty and equipment, then follow from a single visual card with a built-in timer. There are structured multi-week programs, monthly challenges (October's is "Ranger"), a workout and exercise of the day, an exercise library with 955 video how-tos, and free books - the featured one is readable, listenable or downloadable (eBook, audio, PDF) at no cost. Everything is original work, created and tested in-house, and the site has been free since 2012.

These are DAREBEE's own workout cards, hotlinked from darebee.com - not our screenshots. Every workout is laid out like this: exercises with illustrations, rep counts, sets and a difficulty badge. DAREBEE releases its materials under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence, so cards may be shared unchanged with their copyright visible, never sold or modified.

What we tested
On 22 October 2026 we explored the site in a scripted desktop browser, no account. The workouts page invited us to "LOAD FILTER", which opened a live filter panel reporting "2,821 workouts in the database" with counts per category: types (strength 1,059, cardio 561, metcon 399, HIIT 244, combat 255, stretching 99, wellness 69, yoga 135), focus (full body 1,786, lower body 497, upper body 359, abs 179), difficulty (light to advanced) and equipment (no equipment 2,429, dumbbells 190, pull-up bar 99, kettlebells 14). It also showed 955 video how-tos, done-tracking and a "Surprise Me" button. We opened the Prehab workout page - full exercise descriptions, timer and sets controls, difficulty/focus/type badges and "tested" and "maintained" marks - and verified its official card image loads (including hotlinked from an external site). The timer and tracking were not exercised end-to-end.
Is it free?
Yes, entirely - no ads, no paywall, no account tier. The site states it has been free since 2012 and runs on community donations; a banner currently notes it is not covering ongoing costs and asks for donations (289 supporters so far this October). There is nothing to buy: no premium plan appears anywhere on the pages we read. A supporting donation/subscription option exists but unlocks nothing - everything is already open.
Privacy and data
The points below come from DAREBEE's published privacy policy, quoted or summarised as the site states them. We did not audit its servers or network traffic; treat them as the provider's own commitments.
- Its policy states: "We don't want your data. We don't run ads, we don't sell or rent information to anyone, we don't send marketing emails, and we don't use tracking pixels or advertising trackers."
- All progress (activity log, streaks, program progress, bookmarks, test results) is stored in your browser's localStorage only; the team cannot see it, and clearing browser data deletes it. A Backup feature downloads your data as a file you control.
- When you press "Done", the server adds one to an anonymous counter - no account, user ID or IP address attached, per the policy.
- DAREBEE states it is a non-profit registered in the UK and acts as its own data controller.
India
- No region limits appear anywhere, and the site worked fully in our test. We did not test from India itself.
- Everything is free, so there is no pricing to convert.
- Especially useful where gym access or budget is limited: 86% of the library needs no equipment and works in a small room.
Good to know
- Workouts range from light to advanced difficulty. Choose what suits your own fitness level and health; this is general fitness content, not medical advice - if you have a health condition or injury, check with a doctor first.
- Workout cards are CC BY-NC-ND: share them unchanged with credit, never sell, modify or bundle them into apps or ebooks.
- New workouts are added Monday to Thursday.
- Progress is per device and per browser; use the Backup file to move between phone and laptop.
- The monthly challenge and programs give structure if "what do I do today" is the hard part.
