Find an Akshaya centre before you travel
Need help with an online certificate or application, but not sure which Akshaya centre to visit? Start with Kerala's official centre directory. We selected Malappuram and Perinthalmanna Municipality, got three listings, and opened a centre page with an address, phone number and listed services. The contact-directory route worked. The embedded maps did not.
Quick facts
- For: Kerala residents and families helping someone find assisted digital services.
- Official starting point: akshaya.kerala.gov.in/centers.
- Tested: district and local-body filters, Search, result listings and one centre detail page.
- No login, Aadhaar, OTP, card or payment was requested for this directory lookup.
- A listing is not confirmation that a centre is open today or can complete your particular application.
- We did not call a centre, visit it, test a submission or verify a final service fee.
Why this is useful in Kerala
Advice to "visit an Akshaya centre" leaves a practical gap: which one, at what address, and whom do you call first? This directory gives an official-source starting point rather than asking you to rely on an unverified agent listing or an AI-generated phone number.
Akshaya's own description explains its role as an assisted service network. Its service catalogue includes certificates, ration-card services and scholarship-related assistance. Do not assume every centre offers every service today. Check the centre's listed services and confirm before travelling.
Find a centre, step by step
- Open the official directory and look for Locate Akshaya Centers.
- Choose your district under Select District.
- Under Panchayath / Municipality / Corporation, search for and select your local body. Wait for the choices to load after choosing a district.
- Select Search. Wait for the result cards, not just the page header.
- Open a centre card to read its address, contact details and listed services.
- Call before going. Ask whether the exact service is available, what documents are needed, whether an appointment is required, the opening time and the total charges.
The last step is advice, not a call we made. The page also offers a Search by Service control; we left it at All Services and did not validate that filter in this test.
What happened in our test
We selected Malappuram, then Perinthalmanna Municipality, and selected Search. The result page showed three centre codes: MPM124, MPM281 and MPM280. These are observed directory records, not rankings or recommendations.

We opened the MPM124 Housing colony road detail page. It displayed an address in Perinthalmanna, PIN 679322, an office phone field and a services list that included Income Certificate. This verifies that the detail route displayed those fields. It does not verify the phone was answered, the premises were open or that an income certificate could be issued for a particular person.

The map failed. Do not use this as a directions guide
Both the result page and centre detail page showed This page can't load Google Maps correctly. The text listings still loaded. We did not demonstrate map navigation, GPS-based nearest-centre search, travel distance or route directions.
Some listing images were broken, and some broader district cards had empty phone fields. A missing field does not prove a centre is closed. If the directory is incomplete or a number does not work, use the official contact page to find the district project office rather than guessing another number.
Ask the charge and get a receipt
The directory lookup requested no payment. That does not mean assisted applications and other services are free. Government fees, centre service charges and scanning or printing may be separate. We did not test a paid service or verify a current all-services tariff.
A Kerala government notice, updated 21 July 2023, says approved service rates must be displayed and receipts must be given. Ask to see the displayed rate and get a receipt. Use the current official contact page for escalation if a rate chart or receipt is missing.
The portal's downloads section includes service-charge orders, while individual service pages may show older figures without a clear current revision date. We deliberately do not turn those into a universal 2026 price list. A 6 August 2025 report in The Hindu describes separate K-Smart service-charge rules, reinforcing why the exact service matters. It is context, not our verification of a final charge.
Before handing over documents
- Use the official directory domain, not an ad or a look-alike booking page.
- Confirm the exact application, required documents and total cost before giving originals or paying.
- Do not send Aadhaar copies, OTPs, passwords or payment details to an unsolicited caller claiming to be the centre.
- Keep the receipt and the application acknowledgement or reference number if you later submit a service.
- Assistance with an application does not guarantee eligibility, approval or faster processing.
Limits of this check
This was a public desktop directory lookup on 30 October 2026. It did not use a Google account or any personal applicant information. We did not test a phone call, visit, appointment, service filter, Aadhaar enrolment, document upload, application submission, payment or turnaround time. We do not claim the displayed records are a complete or live-open list of centres.
Kottayam district's official page separately publishes centre and Aadhaar-enrolment lists. Such district resources can help when a portal record is incomplete, but they are not proof of today's opening hours either.
